frequently asked questions...

Can I get coaching or training for free?

Possibly! It is definitely worth looking into Access to Work - it is surprising how many things make people eligible, for example a physical health such as back issues. Also, neurodivergent traits such as ADHD count - a formal diagnosis is not necessary.

Access to Work is a UK Government scheme to help people to reach their potential in the workplace. People can choose their own coach/trainer or have the one Access to Work suggests.

'Access to Work could give you a grant to help pay for things like:

* specialist equipment and assistive software

* support workers, like a BSL interpreter, a job coach or a travel buddy

* costs of travelling to work, if you cannot use public transport

* adaptations to your vehicle so you can get to work

* physical changes to your workplace

Your workplace can include your home if you work from there some or all of the time.

If you get an Access to Work grant, it will not affect any other benefits you get and you will not have to pay it back.

You or your employer may need to pay some costs up front and claim them back later.'

This is the website if you would like more details about the eligibility criteria and how to apply:

Website: https://www.gov.uk/access-to-work.

If you would like to speak to us about the possibility of Access to Work paying for your coaching, please get in touch.

I am self-employed, can I still apply for the grant?

Yes, absolutely.

Will it be easy to change my provider to TheEDGE.global?

Yes. Department of Work and Pensions don't mind who your provider is, as long as the invoice matches the amount they agreed. You will just need to send an invoice or receipt from TheEDGE.global if you would like us to provide your coaching or technology training.

Can TheEDGE.global price match quotes from Access to Work?

Yes, please get in touch.

What if I decide a service isn't a good fit for me after the free trial?

We know this will happen sometimes, as everyone is unique. That's exactly why we provide free trials with zero pressure to purchase sessions with us.

You might resonate with one specialist more than another, so feel free to meet with other professionals before you decide. Equally, you might benefit from trying another service or looking elsewhere. We will provide signposting to other services outside TheEDGE.global if we feel you would benefit from further exploration.

What if the coach/trainer thinks their service isn't a good fit for me at this moment in time?

If we think the service you try isn't a good fit for your circumstances, we will let you know and suggest that you consider looking at other services. It can take some time to find something that is the right fit because everyone is so different.

As you provide services globally, do you speak different languages?

Our services are provided mainly by English speakers, however, ADHD Coaching is provided by Sarah, who speaks Spanish, French and English. Distant Reiki is provided by Ana, who Speak Spanish and English.

Why is this company called TheEDGE.global?

Excellent question!

EDGE is an acronym for the things we at The EDGE are deeply passionate about:

Growth 🌱

Empowerment 🕊️

E stands for excellence - we have high standards and strive for excellence at all times. This includes our commitment to signposting alternative services outside TheEDGE.global to our clients and potential clients so they can make informed decisions about the services they access.

Our solution-focused, holistic approach to study, coaching and wellbeing helps our clients in many different ways.

The awareness that this brings equips people to develop ways to continue to independently develop growth strategies in what ever area they choose. Our own growth is highly important to us and our Continued Professional Development (CPD) is updated regularly. You can see what we have been up to below. Our wellbeing is also highly important to use - we regularly swap skills to help ensure we are at our personal best when working with clients and students.

E stands for empowerment. We help empower people with self-awareness so they are able to self-advocate for the things that help ensure they are as productive and possible and minimise absence from work. We are all highly passionate about empowering others as we have personally experienced the difference awareness, self-developed strategies and compatible environments can make to our creativity, well-being, productivity and happiness.

frequently asked questions (students)...

Can I get a tutor for free?

Possibly! It is definitely worth looking into Disabled Students Allowance (DSA) - it is surprising how many people are eligible but don't realise it. So many people don't know they are neurodivergent because they are used to working so much harder than everyone else. University is very different to school, so it might be useful to find out.

If you would like to speak to us about the possibility of DSA paying for a specialist tutor, training and other items that will remove any challenges you may be facing, contact your university or get in touch.

What is DSA and how can I apply?

Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA) is for students in the UK. Students can choose their own tutor or have the one the DSA suggests.

'Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA) is support to cover the study-related costs you have because of a mental health problem, long-term illness or any other disability.

This can be on its own or in addition to any student finance you get.

The type of support and how much you get depends on your individual needs - not your household income.'

Website: https://www.gov.uk/disabled-students-allowance-dsa

If you would like to speak to us about the possibility of Access to Work paying for your coaching, please get in touch.
